Accommodation

UBC Conferences and Accommodations has set aside a block of rooms at UBC’s Walter Gage Residence for MayDay Group Colloquium presenters and attendees. Studio suites are available at $129 CA per night and one-bedroom suites are $149 CA per night, plus taxes. A full continental breakfast at the Pacific Spirit Place Cafeteria is included in the rate.

Because Vancouver is one of Canada’s primary vacation destinations and UBC seeks to maximize the use of its accommodations, it is very important that you book your room as early as possible. The negotiated group rate is not guaranteed to be available after the cutoff date of May 27, 2013, or after the reserved room block is filled. Reservations made later will be subject to availability and will be at the lowest rate available to the general public at the time of booking.

The Neville Scarfe Building, where the MayDay Colloquium will be held, is a 10 minute walk from Gage Residence.

A taxi ride from Vancouver International Airport is approximately 20 minutes from UBC’s campus and Gage Residence. If you are traveling light, the Canada Line train leaves the airport every 10 minutes and can take you to the Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver where you can take a bus out to UBC’s campus. Along the way, you can also get off at the Cambie Street Station, where an express bus (99 B-Line, heading WEST) can take you directly to the UBC campus.

Gage Residence is a 5 minute walk from the UBC Bus Loop. Additional, detailed public transit information is posted under “Travel Information.”
